Belo Monte Dam occupation final day

Norte Energia is building a big dam on an indigenous area near the Xingu river in Brazil.
How
you can read on the paper for the rights of indigenous people (made by
UN), the ancient council need to be consulted about every project that,
other people, want to start.
Despite
these assumptions, the construction of this big dam by Norte Energia
was started without a consultation with the indigenous, in fact the
negotiations happened since 2009 weren't observed.
The dam will be the cause of an innondation of 500 mq of rainforest, altering irriversibly the climate.
32000
indigenous will be removed from their lands. Against this, which could
be called a ethnic cleansing, the indigenous belonging to this region of
Xingu, have occupied, untill few days ago, the yard of the dam. After
confused negotiations and exploiting the difficulties of translation,
Norte Energia have offered televisions, video cameras, computers and
boats as a price for the ending of the occupation.
We
stress that the person, who had to translate, into the indigenous
language, these negotiations, was a member of Norte
Energia and, 'cause of this, biased. Also Norte Energia contacted
separately every tribe with the aim to decrease the unity of indigenous
people and to impair the negotiations. Bad was also the behavior of
FUNAI and IBAMA, organizations which have to protect the rights of
indios, in fact there weren't members of these associations during the
negotiations. Perceiving of the cheat the indigenous people have
retained 3 members of the factories which wanted the hydroelectric
project on of their community: the members were sent into the indigenous
areas receiving a really humane treatment with the freedom of moving
inside the Muritu's village.
This rapture was a consequence of the ethnic
cleaning and, 'cause of this, is to be noted as a damage of the right
to live of indigenous people: this is considered as a demo and pacific

an another reunion between indigenous people and Norte Energia, with the
presence of FUNAI, IBAMA and the presence of members of the Presidency
of Government, to define the rules of navigation of the Xingu river and
the start of the project for the enviroment's protection prepared by
Norte Energia, which also now remains incomplete. The indigenous demand
to hold their seculary award freedom of moving with boats along the
river and that a new reservoir have to be interested by a plane of
operation about the enviroment's protection, to avoid natural disasters.
The next week other reunions will be held near the indigenous
communities, but also the existence of the river's part where they live
is in danger.
Norte Energia your behaviour is a mirror of the baddest colonialist acts of past centuries.
Like
the Conquistadores you want to destroy the indigenous cultures in
exchange for some mirrors and with the cheat of treatments intentionally
poorly translated. The respect toward humans, their culture and
ecosystem has a really higher price then a dam. So OperationGreenRights

Norte Energia stà costruendo una megadiga nel territorio dei popoli indigeni sul fiume Xingu in Brasile.
Come sancito dalla carta dei diritti de popoli indigeni dell'ONU, il consiglio degli anziani deve essere consultato su ogni progetto che terzi vogliano avviare nei territori indigeni.
Nonostante questi presupposti la costruzione della mega diga di Norte Energia è stata avviata senza alcuna vera consultazione degli indigeni, di fatti le negoziazioni avvenute fin dal 2009 non sono state rispettate.
La diga causerà l'innondazione di 500 chilometri quadrati di foresta pluviale alterandone irreversibilmente il clima.
32.000 indigeni saranno cacciati dalle loro terre. Contro questa, che è una vera e propria pulizia etnica,
gli indigeni della regione dello Xingu hanno occupato, fino a pochi
giorni fà il cantiere della diga. A seguito di trattative confuse e
sfruttando la difficoltà di traduzione Norte Energia ha offerto televisori, videocamere, computer e imbarcazioni in cambio della fine dell'occupazione.
Sottolineiamo che la persona incaricata di tradurre nella lingua indigena durante le trattative era un membro di Norte Energia
e quindi tutt'altro che imparziale. Inoltre Norte Energia ha contattato
separatamente ogni singola tribù in modo tale da dividere gli indigeni
e diminuirne la possibilità di trattativa. Grave anche il comportamento
di FUNAI e IBAMA organizzazioni che dovrebbero tutelare gli interessi degli indios, infatti nessun rappresentante di queste era presente durante le citate trattative.
Accortisi del raggiro gli indigeni hanno quindi trattenuto 3 responsabili delle aziende interessate al progetto idrolettrico in una loro comunità, costoro
sono stati condotti nei territori indigeni ricevendo un trattamento più
che umano e godendo della libertà di spostamento all'interno del villaggio di Muritu.
Questo rapimento avviene a seguito della già citata pulizia etnica e
quindi della lesione del diritto alla vita degli indigeni, è dunque da

Gli indigeni chiedono di mantenere la loro pluri secolare libertà di spostarsi con imbarcazioni sul fiume e che il bacino idrico di nuova costituzione sia interessato da un piano di intervento di tutela ambientale, per evitare catastrofi naturali. La prossima settimana altre riunioni si terranno presso le varie comunità indigene, ma in realtà la stessa esistenza del tratto di fiume su cui gli indigeni vivono è a rischio.

i Conquistadores vuoi distruggere le culture indigene in cambio di
qualche "specchietto" e con l'inganno di trattati artatamente maltradotti.
Il rispetto degli esseri umani, della loro cultura e dell'ecosistema ha
un valore incomparabilmente superiore a quello di una diga. Perciò
OperationGreenRights manifesta la sua vicinanza ai popoli del fiume
Xingu nella loro lotta per i loro diritti inalienabili.
